What can you say about the play before you start reading? It's definately from a different era, by the dialouge and word usuage.

Write a description of the external conflict which is evoking pathos for Oedipus and from the audiance?. The external conflict is tha Oedipus killed his own father in any earlier conflict and he married his mother as well

What affect does the imagery have on the audianc? What I noticed i would hear if i was being rea the story properly is a sharp crisp tone that uses dialoge from another time period

Discuss the exteranl conflict. Teiresias knows that Oedipus is the murderer and his wishes not to tell him so that he can find out for himself.

Find the at least 2 examples of Oedipus' hubris. Pg line 135 and pg 970 line 147

Find examples of dramatic irony. pd 971 line 212- Curse Creon. Curse my words.

What is chorus talking about? The chorus is singing about a journey someone has taken and how he shouldn't be judged because he has come along way.

HW:Part 4 pg 973-983
To think about tomorrow's disscussion

What's the conflict between Creon and Oedipus? Oedipus said Creon seduced the old prophet into lying. This caused him a great deal of dis- honor with his friends and family.

Why is Oedipus so edgy? He thinks Creon was plotting his death and planning to steal the throne.

We meet Jocast; characterizize her. She is dumb and naieve. Naieve to the point that she acts as if she knows something but tries to play dumb about the situation

Find dramtic irony? Oedipus think that Creon must be trying to plot his death.

What's Oedipus plan? HIs plan is to find the wotness and kill him.
